Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 June 2020, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov held a video conference call with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to the residence in Helsinki, Marja Elina Liivala.
The sides exchanged views on the state of bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, investment, judicial and other fields.
Special attention was paid to interaction within the framework of international organizations and the Uzbekistan-EU dialogue. In particular, the parties welcomed the adoption of the EU Strategy for Central Asia and noted the importance of the early conclusion of an Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation.
During the conversation, the prospects of enhancing cooperation in the field of "green technologies", as well as the implementation of Uzbek-Finnish environmental projects, were examined.
At the talks, the parties discussed a schedule of upcoming joint events.
