Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved a project for the construction of a road junction at the intersection of Makhtumkuli and Ahangaran streets on 1 June last year. Today the works are at the final stage.
The road junction has a unique engineering solution and will consist of three levels. A tunnel with a length of 502 meters along the Akhangaran highway is being built, a 411-meter-long viaduct on Makhtumkuli Street, and two overpasses with a length of 29 meters each on the ring intersection of streets.
The construction of these facilities will help ensure non-stop traffic and road unloading. The planned date of commissioning is September of the current year.
It also provides information on the progress of construction of the Tashkent Skytrain. The construction of a line with a total length of more than 52 kilometers is carried out in five stages. A line is currently being constructed at the station from the Dustlik metro station to the Kuylyuk market.
