Shavkat Mirziyoyev Visits a Military Unit in Surkhandarya Region and Reviews Combat Training

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited a military unit during his trip to the Surkhandarya region.

Large-scale reforms in the country’s defense system are playing a decisive role in strengthening the combat readiness of the troops and improving the effectiveness of military-administrative structures.

All necessary conditions have been created at the military unit to ensure comprehensive combat and training preparedness of servicemen. Training buildings, the dining facility, dormitories, spiritual and educational rooms, and the sports complex are equipped with modern technology and equipment.

Taking into account that modern regional conflicts increasingly involve artificial intelligence, robotics, missiles, drones, and counter-drone systems, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief set tasks to establish new units responsible for operating and countering drones, to develop cyber structures working with AI, and to expand the use of robotic equipment and air defense systems.

Systematic efforts are underway to equip the national army with modern weapons and military hardware.

The President familiarized himself with the service conditions at the unit and inspected samples of military equipment and armaments, including advanced air defense systems.

It was emphasized that when determining priorities for the development of the army, it is essential to take into account the specifics of modern armed conflicts, existing security threats, and the characteristics of potential theaters of operations.

Relevant officials were instructed to ensure the consistent implementation of measures aimed at strengthening the potential of the Armed Forces, reinforcing the material and technical base, and enhancing the readiness of personnel.
