Shavkat Mirziyoyev Reviews Microprocessor Production Project in Tashkent Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a working visit familiarized himself with the high-tech project of Vades Group in the Akhangaran district of Tashkent region. The project involves launching production of microprocessor modules for identification systems, SIM cards, as well as transport, social, and international payment cards.

The initiative aligns with the objectives set by the Presidential Decree of 22 January 2025, “On Additional Measures to Advance the Development of the Electrical Engineering Industry”, aimed at accelerating the growth of the electrical engineering sector and related industries, and promoting the production of high-tech products with high added value.

The enterprise is designed to support the implementation of digital government services and provide convenient and secure payment solutions for everyday citizen needs.

The project, valued at US$15 million, is being implemented within the Eltech Industrial Technopark in partnership with the German company Infineon Technologies.

Currently, the second stage of construction is 15% complete, with US$7 million in investments already utilized. The modern production facility covers 4 hectares, with plans to create around 100 jobs, and an expected annual export volume of US$6 million.

In 2025, Uzbekistan imported microprocessor modules, SIM cards, and various payment cards totaling approximately US$35 million. After reaching full production capacity, the enterprise is expected to produce import-substituting products worth around US$5 million.

Export deliveries are planned to countries including Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mozambique, and Cambodia.

The President reviewed working conditions and technological processes at the facility. The new plant is projected to rank among the top three producers in the CIS by production volume.

Following the visit, instructions were issued to actively implement innovative approaches in high-value manufacturing, develop local workforce potential, and further expand export supplies.
