Shavkat Mirziyoyev ratifies partnership agreement with Qatar
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law ratifying the agreement on establishing a bilateral strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Qatar.
The document, signed by both parties in April 2024, outlines key areas of cooperation in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The agreement aims to deepen collaboration in education, science, healthcare, culture, tourism, and sports. Special attention will be given to the exchange of experiences in training and upgrading the qualifications of specialists in the fields of economy, management, diplomacy, and tourism.
Plans include expanding trade and economic partnerships, attracting investments, and creating joint ventures in the private sector.
A separate section of the document addresses security matters. Specifically, the parties intend to coordinate efforts in combating international terrorism, extremism, illegal drug trafficking, arms trafficking, organized crime, and human trafficking.
