Shavkat Mirziyoyev Meets Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 15 November, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who arrived in Tashkent to participate in the seventh Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of States.
At the start of the meeting, Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the invitation and emphasized the importance of strengthening regional cooperation. In response, President Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the Azerbaijani President and the brotherly Azerbaijani people on the fifth anniversary of the Victory celebrated on 8 October 2025.
The leaders discussed pressing issues regarding the further development of Uzbek-Azerbaijani strategic partnership and alliance, as well as the progress in implementing agreements reached during President Mirziyoyev’s state visit to Azerbaijan in July this year. It was noted that bilateral contacts at all levels continue actively and fruitfully.
Special attention was given to economic cooperation. Since the beginning of the year, trade between the two countries has increased by 15 percent. Joint industrial cooperation projects are in an active phase, including initiatives in the automotive sector, energy, tourism, and other priority areas.
The leaders agreed on the schedule of upcoming high-level meetings and events, emphasizing their readiness to continue strengthening strategic dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
