Shavkat Mirziyoyev: It is necessary to reduce the cost of production and enter global markets

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev became familiar with rock products production at Marmarobod enterprise in Nurata district, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said in a statement.

Uzbek President has repeatedly noted the need for studying the requirements of the market, organizing production of marketable products, which is the key to the quality of goods and sustainable activities of any enterprise. In particular, in recent years, the demand for decorative stone has increased in both domestic and foreign markets. Moreover, Nurata district is rich in large deposits of this raw material.

Marmarobod SUE was organized in accordance with instructions of the President, which was announced during the previous trip to Navoi region. At the expense of 10 billion soums, a modern production with an area of 6 hectares was built in the steppe.

The company is capable of processing 24 thousand square meters of granite per year. About 40 people are employed here. All this is only the first stage of the project.

At the second stage, it is planned to establish mining and processing of natural stone according to a cluster system. This will serve to expand the range, produce 3 million square meters of products per year for 250 billion soums, as well as increase annual exports to US$10 million. It is planned to create about 1.5 thousand jobs.

Uzbek leader, getting acquainted with products of the enterprise, noted its quality, which is not inferior to world analogues. The President of Uzbekistan called on manufacturers to reduce production costs and bring them to foreign markets through the use of efficient technologies, reducing transport costs. The need for training personnel capable of deep processing decorative rocks at the level of international standards, using domestic-made building materials in construction activities was emphasized.

Presentation of projects for production of building materials for 2019-2020, establishing industrial production of marble sculptures together with Chinese investors, development of Gazgan village of Nurata district in accordance with its master plan was held.

The President proposed to build a railway here for development of infrastructure and industry of the territory.
