Shavkat Mirziyoyev Discusses Strengthening Uzbek-Turkmen Partnership with Serdar Berdimuhamedow

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting in Ashgabat with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, congratulating him and the brotherly people of Turkmenistan on the 30th anniversary of the country’s neutrality.

During the conversation, the leaders noted the high level of organization of the International Forum held in honor of the anniversary, as well as the declaration of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust.”

Special attention was given to expanding strategic partnership between the two countries, including the implementation of agreements reached during the recent visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan. Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover between the countries has reached approximately one billion US dollars. The Shavat–Dashoguz cross-border trade zone is operating actively, and cargo transportation through the Turkmenbashi port has increased by 30 percent.

The leaders emphasized the need to adopt effective measures at the upcoming sessions of the Intergovernmental Commission, the Business Council, and the Forum of Regions to multiply trade and advance joint projects in key economic sectors, including energy, agriculture, and transport.
