Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulates elected President of Armenia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
On 2 March, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Armen Sargsyan with his election to the post of the President of Armenia, the presidential press service said.
The Uzbek leader expressed his belief that the Uzbek-Armenian relations, based on the principles of respect and mutual understanding, will continue to be consistently strengthened in the interests of the two countries and peoples.
It should be reminded that Armenian Ambassador to Great Britain Armen Sargsyan was the only candidate for this post. Ninety deputies voted in favour of his candidacy at the required minimum of 79 votes. He will take office on 9 April.
