The heads of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan held the meeting on the sidelines of the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Science and Technology, which is held in Astana (Kazakhstan).

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ashraf Ghani discussed prospects for further development of bilateral relations in political, trade-economic, transport-communication, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The Presidents also considered issues of interaction of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan within the framework of international organizations, topical issues of regional and international importance, which are of mutual interest.
