Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The share of small businesses in GDP of Uzbekistan in January-June 2020 was 51.3%. The number of small businesses per 1000 people was 14.4 units. In January-June 2020, 46.6 thousand new small enterprises and microfirms (excluding dekhkans and farms) were created, which is 13.8% less than the same period in 2019, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
The largest number of small enterprises and microfirms was created in the sphere of trade - 16588 units, industry - 9713 units, agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 8525 units, construction - 3302 units, accommodation and food services - 2460 units, transportation and storage - 1148 units.
In January-June 2020, in the regional context, the largest indicator of the number of newly created small enterprises and microfirms was in the city of Tashkent - 7008 units, Surkhandarya region - 4906 units, Andijan region - 4508 units. In Samarkand region, this figure reached 4049 units, in Tashkent region - 3991 units, in Namangan region - 3184 units. At a low level, this indicator was recorded in Syrdarya region - 1783 units.
In terms of regions, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent and accounts for 15.1% in the total number of newly created small enterprises and microfirms, in Surkhandarya region - 10.5%, Andijan region - 9.7%, Samarkand region - 8.7%, Tashkent region - 8.6%, Namangan region - 6.8%, Khorezm region - 6.1%, Ferghana region - 5.8%.
In January-June 2020, the largest increase in newly created small enterprises and microfirms was registered in the city of Andijan - 1152 units.
In January-June 2020, in the regional context, the largest indicator of the number of small businesses (per 1000 population, units) was in the city of Tashkent - 30.1 units, Navoi region - 20.2 units, Syrdarya region - 19.6 units. In Jizzakh region this indicator reached 17.2 units, Tashkent region - 16.1 units, Bukhara region - 15.8 units, Kashkadarya region - 12.8 units. At a low level, this indicator was recorded in the Surkhandarya region - 10.1 units.
In January-June 2020, in the context of cities and districts, the largest indicator of the number of small businesses (per 1000 population, units) was 59.2 units in Yakkasaray region, 56.1 units in Bektemir region, and 46.1 units in Mirabad region, Chilanzar region - 40.1 units, Gulistan city - 39.9 units, Tamdynsky region - 39.9 units, Karaulbazar region - 38.5 units.
In January-June 2020, the share of small business in GDP was 51.3% (51.5% in January-June 2019). This decrease is explained by an increase in the share of large enterprises in the structure of GDP.
In the regional context, the largest share of small entrepreneurship (business) in GRP falls on Jizzakh (79.2%), Surkhandarya (74.3%), Bukhara (73.4%), Samarkand (71.2%) and Namangan (69.4 %) regions. In Navoi region, this indicator remains low and equals 23.0%.
In the regional context, the largest share of small businesses in the export of products (works, services) is noted in Syrdarya (71.6%), Khorezm (69.1%), Namangan (63.5%), Surkhandarya (61.4%), Ferghana (58.7%), Samarkand (56.3%), Jizzakh (55.2%) and Kashkadarya (48.5%) regions. In Navoi region (15.2%) the share of small businesses in the export of products (works, services) remains low.
In the regional context, the largest share of small businesses in the import of products (works, services) falls on Surkhandarya (90.9%), Jizzakh (90.6%), Namangan (74.2%), Ferghana (68.1%) and Khorezm (66.2%) regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan (66.2%). In Andijan region (10.9%), the share of small businesses in the import of products (works, services) remains low.
In the regional context, the largest volume of industrial production falls on the city of Tashkent (11452.0 billion soums), Tashkent (5502.8 billion soums), Ferghana (3538.4 billion soums), Samarkand (3304.0 billion soums) ) and Andijan (3134.8 billion soums) regions. In the Surkhandarya region (1115.7 billion soums), the volume of industrial production remains low.
In the regional context, the largest share of small business in the total production volume was 55.7% in Jizzakh region, Surkhandarya region - 45.6%, Samarkand region - 43.8%, Namangan region - 43.7%, Tashkent city - 38.8%, Ferghana - 37.4%, Syrdarya - 34.7%, Bukhara - 32.0%, Kashkadarya - 31.6% and Khorezm - 27.8% regions. In Navoi region, the share of small business remains low - 6.7%.
In the regional context, the largest volume of retail trade was recorded in Tashkent city (13516.8 billion soums), Tashkent (8159.1 billion soums), Ferghana (6922.2 billion soums), Andijan (6198.2 billion soums), Samarkand (6,064.5 billion soums) and Kashkadarya (5688.1 billion soums) regions.
In the regional context, the largest volume of construction work performed was recorded in Tashkent city (6376.7 billion soums), Samarkand (2479.5 billion soums), Bukhara (2344.5 billion soums), Tashkent (2340.7 billion soums), Ferghana (2233.2 billion soums), Kashkadarya (2149.4 billion soums), Surkhandarya (1937.4 billion soums) and Andijan (1871.3 billion soums) regions.
In the regional context, the largest volume of services was noted in Tashkent city (17171.3 billion soums), Tashkent (5163.5 billion soums), Samarkand (4306.6 billion soums), Ferghana (4180.6 billion soums), Andijan (3439.2 billion soums), Kashkadarya (3216.0 billion soums) and Bukhara (2882.9 billion soums) regions.
At the end of the second quarter of 2020, a sample survey of the activities of small enterprises and microfirms that had proceeds from the sale of products (goods, works and services) in the last reporting year by type of economic activity was conducted, in which 16089 respondents took part.
By type of economic activity, the share of small enterprises and microfirms participating in the sample survey is 4.3% (689 units) in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 16.1% (2597 units) in industry, 11.4% in construction (1830 units), trade - 35.3% (5677 units), services - 32.9% (5296 units).
According to a survey of the activities of small enterprises and microfirms that had revenue from the sale of products (goods, works and services) in the last reporting year, in the II quarter of 2020, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, a favorable assessment of the general economic situation decreased at enterprises in all kinds of activities.
Along with this, a satisfactory economic situation has improved in agriculture, forestry and fisheries and their assessment, compared to the same period in 2019, increased by 6.5 points, trade - by 5.5 points, industry - by 3.6 points, construction - 0.7 points, and in the service sector the increase was 0.5 points.
In the second quarter of 2020, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, there was an increase in the share of enterprises assessing the economic situation as unsatisfactory - by 21.9 points, in industry - by 16.9 points, and construction - by 13.9 points, trade - by 11.1 points, agriculture, forestry and fisheries - by 5.8 points.
The results of a survey of the activities of small enterprises and microfirms that had proceeds from the sale of products (goods, works and services) in the last reporting year, in the II quarter of 2020 showed that, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, the share of enterprises confident in improving the economic situation in the next three months, decreased at enterprises of all types of economic activity.
At the same time, compared to the corresponding period last year, the share of enterprises that believe that the state of their economic situation in the next three months will remain unchanged increased by 7.7 points in the industrial sector, 4.1 points in the service sector, 4.1 points in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 4.0 points in trade and 3.2 points in construction.
The share of enterprises expecting the economic situation to deteriorate in the near future increased in the service sector by 7.3 points, industry by 5.9 points, construction by 4.4 points, and trade by 3.2 points. In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, their share decreased by 1.5 points.
At the end of the second quarter of 2020, a sample survey of the activities of newly created small enterprises and microfirms by type of economic activity was carried out, in which 2571 respondents took part, including 491 industrial enterprises (19.1% of the total number of respondents who participated), construction - 183 (7.1%), trade - 991 (38.6%), services - 512 (19.9%), agriculture, forestry and fishery - 394 (15.3%).
According to a survey of the activities of small enterprises and microfirms created in the second quarter of 2020, a favorable economic situation has decreased at enterprises in all types of economic activity. Also, a decrease in the share of enterprises assessing the economic situation as satisfactory, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, was observed at enterprises of all types of economic activity. In the second quarter of 2020, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, the share of enterprises assessing the economic situation as unsatisfactory increased by 13.2 points in the services sector, 12.9 points in trade, 8.6 points in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 6.2 points in industry and 4.2 points in construction.
The results of a survey of the activities of small enterprises and microfirms created in the second quarter of 2020 showed that, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, the share of enterprises confident of an improvement in the economic situation in the next three months decreased at enterprises in almost all types of economic activity.
At the same time, in comparison with 2019, the share of enterprises in the service sector increased by 6.9 points, industry – by 5.4 points, construction – by 4.5 points, trade – by 3.8 points, who considered that the state of their economic situation in the next three months will remain unchanged. In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, their share decreased by 2.0 points.
The share of enterprises that expected the economic situation to deteriorate in the near future increased in trade – by 3.0 points, industry – by 1.8 points, construction – by 1.6 points, services – by 1.6 points, agriculture, forestry and fisheries – by 1.4 points.
