Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, the Congress of the International Federation of Aquatic Sports (World Aquatics) convened to discuss key issues related to the development of aquatic disciplines, improving the organization’s efficiency, and enhancing its governance structure.

One of the central outcomes of the Congress was the formation of the new Bureau of the World Aquatics Executive Committee — one of the federation’s main governing bodies. Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva, First Deputy Chairperson of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan and First Deputy Director of the National Social Protection Agency, was elected as a member of the Bureau.

This milestone highlights Uzbekistan’s growing presence in the international sports community and supports the promotion of national initiatives in aquatic disciplines. The inclusion of an Uzbek representative in the Bureau creates new opportunities to attract international expertise, develop sports infrastructure, and support youth programs in the country.

It is expected that Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva’s election will further strengthen international cooperation and contribute to the implementation of projects aimed at building and modernizing swimming facilities in Uzbekistan, advancing inclusive sports, and promoting the principles of accessibility and equal opportunities in aquatic disciplines.
