Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Kazan, several hundred citizens of Uzbekistan are observed at the Mashtakovo border checkpoint in Samara Region and the Sagarchinsk checkpoint in Orenburg Region (Russia).

These citizens on vehicles arrive from different regions of Russia and demand to create a corridor through the territory of Kazakhstan for return to Uzbekistan.

The Consulate General is in contact with local authorities to find the best solution for all parties. In addition, the MFA Operational Headquarters sent information on the current situation on the Russian-Kazakh border to the Special Republican Commission for a comprehensive review of the issue.

In connection with the above, the Consular Law Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges fellow citizens to remain calm and to comply with the quarantine rules in the host country until a decision is made by the Special Republican Commission.
