Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 March, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov sent a congratulatory message to his colleague, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov, on the occasion of his 70th birthday. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan.
In a message, the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan informed that on 20 March 2020, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Decree “On awarding the Order of Dustlik to Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov” for great achievements in the development of the Uzbek-Russian strategic partnership, a significant contribution to expanding multifaceted bilateral relations in all fields, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
The congratulation also notes that in Uzbekistan Sergei Lavrov is known as “a prominent statesman and politician, an experienced leader, a highly professional diplomat and a true patriot of Russia,” who is respected throughout the world.
The personal contribution of the head of the foreign affairs agency of the Russian Federation to the establishment at the present stage of a qualitatively new character of Uzbek-Russian cooperation, the strengthening of strategic and allied relations, and the belief in the consistent build-up of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries are highly appreciated.
