Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrives in Uzbekistan on an official visit, RIA Novosti reported.

In Tashkent, the Russian Foreign Minister will be received by the President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev, negotiations will be held with Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, the Russian Foreign Ministry said earlier.

It is assumed that during the contacts the parties will consider the whole range of bilateral political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian interaction.

The Foreign Ministry informed that "special attention will be paid to the implementation of the agreements reached in the framework of the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan on 18 October 2018, as well as the preparation of top-level and high-level events scheduled for 2020."

Lavrov will also speak to students of the Tashkent branch of MGIMO, the Russian Foreign Ministry, opened in December last year.

Tashkent is the third and final point on the route of the Russian minister as part of a tour of Asia. Earlier, the Russian Foreign Minister paid working visits to Sri Lanka and India.
