Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Today, on 18 March 2020, the Tashkent City Criminal Court completed the trial and announced the verdict against Gulnora Karimova and members of her criminal community.
During a closed trial, the testimony of the defendants, witnesses, victims was heard, evidence was examined and the arguments of the defense of the defendants were verified.
The court, having thoroughly and fully examined the materials of the criminal case, found G. Karimova guilty of organizing a criminal community, extortion, embezzlement by embezzlement and embezzlement, legalization of proceeds from criminal activity and other crimes.
The verdict of the court sentenced G. Karimova to 13 years 4 months in prison. Based on the norms of criminal law and in accordance with the totality of sentences imposed for several crimes and sentences, the court determined the calculation of the current sentence from 21 August 2015.
The remaining defendants were also given appropriate punishments, taking into account the gravity and public danger of their acts, as well as their role in the crimes committed.
In particular, the court sentenced N. Sodikov to 20 years, O. Sviridov to 17 years and 3 months, A. Ergashev to 18 years and 1 month, Sh. Sabirova to 17 years and 1 month of imprisonment, G. Avakyan to 5 years and 3 months 21 days of imprisonment conditionally with a trial period of 3 years.
Zh. Abdurakhmanov and B. Teshabaev are exempt from liability for crimes due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
