Senior U.S. Diplomats to Visit Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs Sergio Gor and Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau will visit Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan from 26 to 30 October, the U.S. Department of State said in a statement.

During the visit, the American diplomats are expected to hold meetings with government officials from both countries to discuss a broad range of topics, including economic cooperation, regional security, and the strengthening of bilateral relations.

The United States reaffirmed its commitment to deepening partnerships with the nations of Central Asia and expressed its intention to expand trade and economic ties that promote sustainable development and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Special attention will be given to the 10th anniversary of the C5+1 diplomatic platform, which brings together the United States and the five Central Asian countries.

Washington hopes that this format will continue to contribute to regional stability and economic integration.

It is worth noting that Sergio Gor (Sergey Gorokhovsky at birth) was born in Tashkent in 1986.
