On 15 December 2017, the Kengash (Council) of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution on convocation of the thirteenth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 20 December in the city of Tashkent.

During the plenary session, the Senators will consider the state budget of Uzbekistan, the budgets of state trust funds and the main directions of tax and budget policy for 2018.

The Senate will consider the laws “On administrative procedures”, “On establishment of the medal “Kelajak Bunyodkori”, “On establishing the Day of Railway Workers of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “On establishing the Day of Workers in the Construction Sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “On approving the Military Doctrine of the Republic of Uzbekistan” in a new version, the Civil Procedural Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan in a new version, the Economic Procedural Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Court Proceedings, “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with improvement of activity of certain state bodies, as well as the adoption of additional measures to guarantee the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens”, and others.

Senators will discuss a program for phased transformation of farms into multi-sector farms in 2018.

They will hear information of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the activities of law enforcement agencies in the field of combating crime and preventing offenses, as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan on his activities in 2017.

The plenary session will also discuss other issues related to the competence of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
