Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan approved a law “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Connection with Improvement of the Activities of Certain State Bodies, and Adoption of Additional Measures to Ensure Protection of Rights and freedoms of citizens”.

The document introduces changes and additions to the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which envisages transfer of functions and powers of supervising bodies on application of administrative penalties in relation to business entities and their work to judicial bodies.

This will help to increase the role of the judiciary in protecting the interests and rights of business entities, as well as preventing a biased approach to the application of administrative measures against business entities.

In addition, the amendments and additions also optimize the mechanism of responsibility for intentional destruction or damage to someone else’s property, provide for imposition of responsibility for leaving the parliamentary inquiry, the request of a deputy, senator or violation without valid reasons for consideration by officials of the state body, or deliberate submission of him knowingly unreliable information.

In accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 16 June 2017 “On additional measures to improve financial stability and the level of capitalization of commercial banks”, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan” introduces changes and additions to provide loans to the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan for maintaining the liquidity of banks in order to ensure the continuity of their payments and ensuring the openness and accessibility of information on the terms of the banks’ crediting.

The Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Social Partnership” is supplemented by the norms, envisaging definition of the scope of social partnership implementation and concretization of the rights of non-state non-profit organizations and other civil society institutions in the field of combating corruption.

Also additions are made to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Industrial Safety of Hazardous Production Facilities", envying establishment by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of the procedure for registering and maintaining the state register of hazardous production facilities.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 16 February 2017 “On further improvement of the system of postgraduate education”, from 1 July 2017, a two-level system of postgraduate education was introduced into practice.

The laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On State Pensions for Citizens", "On Education", the Labor Code, the Housing Code, as well as the National Program for Personnel Training, are amending the names of the postgraduate education system.

The Family Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan is supplemented by the corresponding norms. They are aimed at improving the procedure for dealing with cases related to divorce.

There are conciliation commissions at citizens’ gatherings, which deal with the solution of family problems through reconciliation before their case considered at courts.

In accordance with the amendments to the Family Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the rule is set, which obliges courts and family registrar offices to inform conciliation commissions about divorce cases.

This measure will allow the conciliation commissions to receive information in advance about possible divorces and try to reconcile the spouses.
