Senators approved 100% advance payment for water supply

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan approved a 100% prepayment for water supply.

The senators approved the law on introducing changes and additions to Article 134 of the Housing Code (the deadline for paying for maintenance of property in an apartment building and making mandatory payments for utilities).

Changes and additions made in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 16, 2017 “On measures to fundamentally improve the payment discipline in the provision of water supply and sanitation services” and envisage introduction of mandatory payments for water and wastewater services (sewage) in the public and private housing stock based on 100 percent prepayment.

In case of non-payment of 100% prepayment for water supply and sewerage (sewage) services in relation to owners, tenants, tenants of premises in public and private housing funds, measures can be applied up to complete disconnection from water supply and sewage systems.
