Senates of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan sign roadmap for cooperation for 2025–2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev met with Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva as part of her official visit to Kazakhstan. The meeting concluded with the signing of a Roadmap for the development of cooperation between the Senates of the two countries for 2025–2026.

According to the Senate of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev congratulated the Uzbek delegation on the upcoming Independence Day and stressed the importance of maintaining the high pace of interaction set by the heads of state for the sustainable development of the region and the achievement of common goals in Central Asia.

He highlighted the close political contacts, active economic cooperation, and strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two nations, underlining the role of regular high-level meetings and reciprocal visits of the leaders of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

During the talks, the parties discussed the results of the work of the Commission on inter-parliamentary cooperation, tasks for realizing the political, economic, and cultural potential of Central Asia, as well as the development of inter-parliamentary dialogue, including the exchange of legislative experience, holding joint events, and consultations between committees and chambers’ staff.

Special attention was given to supporting projects in the water-energy, transport and logistics, and environmental spheres, as well as initiatives in agriculture, engineering, education, communications and digitalization, food security, and other strategically important areas.

The sides also discussed the development of spiritual diplomacy in the framework of the upcoming Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. Maulen Ashimbayev noted Uzbekistan’s active role, together with the Muslim Board, in promoting interfaith dialogue. In turn, Tanzila Narbaeva thanked Kazakhstan for its efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and expressed interest in expanding the prospects of further interaction.

As part of her visit, the Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan will participate in the Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan Forum of scientific and creative intellectuals, meet with members of the National Commission on Women, Family, and Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan, and get acquainted with the activities of the Astana International Financial Centre and Astana Hub.
