Senate Ratifies the Regulations on the Secretariat of the “Central Asia–China” Format

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the twelfth plenary session of the Senate, lawmakers reviewed the Law “On the Ratification of the Regulations on the Secretariat of the ‘Central Asia–China’ Format.”

Senators noted that the adoption of this law will contribute to strengthening regional cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and China, as well as to the development of interaction in the areas of political dialogue, the economy, transport and communications, investment, energy, education, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

The Regulations on the Secretariat define its objectives, areas of activity, and operating mechanisms within the framework of the “Central Asia–China” format.

In particular, the Secretariat performs a coordinating function with regard to agreements between partner countries, ensures the effective implementation of practical projects, and provides a permanent platform for dialogue.

Ratification of these Regulations will enhance Uzbekistan’s participation in regional integration processes and promote the development of economic, investment, infrastructure, and transport and logistics sectors, the creation of new corridors, and an increase in trade turnover.

Senators emphasized that the adoption of the law represents an important step toward implementing Uzbekistan’s regional cooperation initiatives and strengthening constructive dialogue with its partners.

The law was approved by the Senate.
