Senate of Uzbekistan considers report of Prosecutor-General
In the reporting period, the prosecutors carried out work on ensuring rule of law and protection of human rights and freedoms. Special attention was paid to protection personal, political, economic, social and other rights of citizens, fortified in the Constitution of Uzbekistan.
The prosecutors also paid attention to execution of laws, decrees and resolutions of the President of Uzbekistan, decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers, directed at implementing important state programmes, including support and development of entrepreneurship activities and farmers, avoiding illegal interference to activities of the businesses.
They also focused on improving efficiency of supervision on execution of the legislation on employment of population, youth and graduates of colleges, adherence of the rights of the citizens for deserved work conditions, medical services and protection of their health, etc.
The prosecutors also monitored timely execution of the legislation on addresses of the citizens by the state bodies and officials.
The report underlined that the prosecutors revealed shortages in work with addresses of the citizens in Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management, Ministry of Higher and Secondary Education, Ministry of Healthcare and other bodies.
The Senators made proposals and recommendations on further improving activities of the prosecutors in sphere of protection of human rights and freedoms.
