Senate of Uzbekistan adopts resolution on amnesty

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov submitted a resolution “On amnesty in connection with the 21st anniversary of adoption of the Constitution of Uzbekistan” to the consideration of the thirteenth plenary session of the Senate.

The amnesty will be applied to those, who committed crimes, which are not dangerous to the society.

It is planned the release of women, those who were under 18 when committing a crime, as well as men at the age of over 60 and foreign citizens.

Persons, who were sentenced for the first time for their participation in activities of illegal organizations and did not commit heavy crimes, as well as strongly decided to return to correct path, will be also pardoned.
