Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Ratification of the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement between the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on the conduct of joint military exercises (Bishkek, on 29 April 2019) was also discussed at the fifth plenary meeting.”

It was noted that the openness of defense policy, as well as the development of practical ties with other foreign countries in the field of security and defense, are important.

So, a necessary task is the further improvement of the combat and operational training of the Armed Forces, the intensification of training, and increasing their effectiveness.

The adoption of this Law serves to further deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation of the SCO member countries in the military-technical sphere, to ensure the military security of the parties, to strengthen the military potential of their Armed Forces, to carry out the training of military personnel, and to carry out joint measures for military-technical cooperation.

At the same time, the Agreement contains new amendments to the effect that the Protocol is open for accession by any state that is a member of the SCO for which this Agreement enters into force within 30 days from the date of receipt of the instrument of accession from the depositary.

Senate members have decided to approve this Act.
