Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 December 2019, a meeting of the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sodik Safoev with a delegation of the observer mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights led by Cayetana De Zulueta Outram took place.

During the meeting, S. Safoev briefly informed about the large-scale work carried out in Uzbekistan to improve the electoral legislation based on international standards and best foreign practices. It was noted that in Uzbekistan everything is being done to conduct the upcoming elections at a high organizational level in accordance with democratic standards.

It was emphasized that most of the recommendations of international observers at the last elections, including the OSCE observer missions, were implemented in national legislation.
