Senate Holds Online Meeting of Interparliamentary Groups of Uzbekistan and Serbia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An online meeting of the interparliamentary cooperation groups “Uzbekistan–Serbia” and “Serbia–Uzbekistan” was held at the Senate, focusing on prospects for the further development of bilateral relations.

During the discussion, participants concentrated on deepening interparliamentary dialogue and identifying new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation. It was noted that in recent years political dialogue and economic ties between the two countries have been developing steadily, while regular high-level contacts have provided additional momentum to these processes.

Particular attention was paid to the official visit of the President of Serbia to Uzbekistan in October 2025, which participants described as a significant event that elevated bilateral cooperation to a new level.

Within the framework of the visit, special emphasis was placed on expanding interparliamentary contacts and strengthening ties between parliamentary committees and friendship groups.

As a result of the meeting, proposals were put forward to ensure a more systematic organization of the work of the interparliamentary groups, maintain regular dialogue between them, and develop a joint action plan aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
