Senate discusses construction of habitation in rural areas

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Committee of agriculture, water issues and ecology of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a session to discuss results of the study on execution of normative-legal acts on expanding construction of habitation in rural areas by the State Committee of Uzbekistan on architecture and construction, engineering company Qishloq Qurilish Invest and Qishloq Qurilish Bank in Tashkent and Syrdarya regions.

Representatives of ministries and departments, law enforcement bodies, local administrations and others participated at the event. It was noted that Uzbekistan constructs habitation in rural areas to improve level and quality of life in rural areas, the press service of the Senate said.

Since 2009, Uzbekistan has constructed 33,500 houses with the area of 4.6 million square meters in 1,249 new rural blocks in 159 rural areas.

It was said that 700 individual houses were constructed in Syrdarya region in 2011-2013. The banks issued 64.3 billion soums of soft mortgage loans in 2011-2013. About 31 km of gas pipelines, 54.6 km of water pipes, 27.1 km of power supply lines and 46 objects of market infrastructure were constructed in the region. In 2014, it is planned to construct 506 houses in rural areas in 2014 and 42.3 hectares of land were allocated for their construction.

About 1,136 individual houses were commissioned in Tashkent region in 2011-2013. The banks issued 150.6 billion soums of soft mortgage loans to construction of individual houses. In the reporting period, 102.1 km of gas pipeline, 87.7 km of water pipelines, 92.6km of power lines and 101 objects of market infrastructure were constructed in the region. It is planned to build 1,050 houses in rural areas of Tashkent region in 2014.

During the meeting, the participants considered some shortages in the works of the State Committee of Uzbekistan on architecture and construction, engineering company Qishloq Qurilish Invest and Qishloq Qurilish Bank in Tashkent and Syrdarya regions. In particular, it was revealed that lands for construction of individual houses were not allocated in time. The participants considered proposals and recommendations, and adopted a corresponding decision.
