Senate Convenes 12th Plenary Session to Discuss Budget and Reforms
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Senate Council of the Oliy Majlis has adopted a resolution to convene the twelfth plenary session, scheduled for 18 December 2025.
The agenda includes 24 items concerning public life, economic reforms, social issues, legislative improvements, and parliamentary oversight.
Senators plan to review the draft laws “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2026” and amendments to the law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2025,” as well as a number of initiatives proposing changes and additions to legislative acts within the framework of tax and budgetary policy.
Particular attention will be paid to improving the budget process, supporting business entities, stimulating the production of high value-added goods, and implementing the Law on Legal Experimentation.
Other items on the agenda include the functioning of arbitration courts, the peaceful use of atomic energy, enhancement of local government operations, strengthening the system for protecting children from violence, early prevention of offenses, environmental protection, and safeguarding animal and plant life.
Senators will also discuss the ratification of the Regulations on the Secretariat of the “Central Asia – China” format and parliamentary inquiries to the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the quality of services provided by management companies and homeowners’ associations, as well as the outcomes of previously submitted parliamentary inquiries.
