Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Today, meetings of the committees of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis were held in anticipation of the twenty-fourth plenary meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Senators discussed issues to be considered at the twenty-fourth plenary meeting of the upper house of parliament.

In particular, it was about the Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020”. As was emphasized by members of the Senate, the State budget is first fixed by the Law, which is important in further improving the quality of life of the population, and the socio-economic development of the regions.

It was noted that the Law is aimed at approval by the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the expenses of the republican budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan, tax rates and fees, the regulation of the budget process associated with the implementation of this Law, and the relationship between processes and budget levels.

In addition, the Law regulates the procedure for consideration and adoption of the budget of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, local budgets of regions and the city of Tashkent, budgets of districts and cities, the distribution of budget revenues of the budget system of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2020, the use of additional sources of the republican budget of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, budgets of regions and the budget of the city of Tashkent , budgets of districts and cities, especially the implementation of budget expenditures of the budget system of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2020.

According to senators, the Law will serve to further strengthen the role and responsibility of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as Kengashes of people's deputies of the regions and the city of Tashkent.

Along with this, at the meetings of the committees, the report of the Cabinet of Ministers on the implementation in the III-quarter of 2019 of the State program for the implementation of the Strategy of Action for the five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021 in the “Year of Active Investment and Social Development” was tentatively discussed.

So, in the framework of the Strategy for Action to Improve the System of State Building, important reforms have been carried out, and they are yielding results. As part of ensuring broad public participation in public administration, a special web portal, Mening fikrim, has been created. The functioning of the information portal "Openbudget" in order to ensure the formation of the country's budget and the transparency of its implementation is an indicator of the modern form of the management system.

During the meetings, an analysis was made of the effectiveness of the work carried out by the Cabinet of Ministers in the socio-economic development of the country, as well as of the upcoming important tasks that need to be performed in this direction, and opinions were expressed on this.
