Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 3 July, Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva paid a visit to Bayaut district of Syrdarya region.

During the trip, a meeting was held in the district khokimiyat with deputies of Bayaut district Kengash of people’s deputies, heads and members of standing committees, senior officials of the departments and the district’s activists.

The meeting talked about the work being done to ensure employment, entrepreneurship development and poverty reduction.

In addition, attention was focused on the work to be implemented within the framework of the Program approved by the Cabinet of Ministers from 20 June 2020 “On measures for socio-economic development and poverty reduction in the Bayautsky district of Syrdarya region in 2020-2021”.

The work carried out in this area to support the population, in particular those in need of social protection of families, comprehensive protection, job support for poor families, which make up 11.5% of all households, including as part of maintaining their address list, was discussed.

The Chairperson of the Senate in her speech spoke about the role of deputies of local Kengashes in the systematic implementation of work in this direction and made recommendations.

“The population of Syrdarya, in particular Bayaut district, is very hardworking people,” said Senate Chairperson Oliy Majlisa T. Narbaeva. - It must be admitted that problems have accumulated in the region over many years. There are pressing issues awaiting resolution in the fields of education, healthcare, sports and social protection. Therefore, priority is given to further improving the lifestyle of the population. In particular, deputies should also take an active part in this process. In other words, they should hear reports from sector leaders on social support for the population, work carried out as part of targeted social support. In addition, it seems appropriate to hold meetings with voters, study and positively solve their problems, and pay special attention to improving efficiency in this process. Permanent commissions of local Kengashes should also be active in finding a solution to each problem related to their direction. It would be great if the results were not used only in the reports, but served to satisfy the needs of the population. In general, it is necessary on a systematic basis to ensure the fulfillment of tasks related to the implementation of deputy control over the socio-economic development of the region, the direction of deputy requests to address issues raised in the appeals of the population.

During the meeting, it was noted that in the framework of this Program, in 2020-2021, 2632 new jobs will be created due to the implementation of the planned 50 investment projects worth more than 500.0 billion soums, it is planned to reconstruct 5 preschool educational institutions, 4 secondary schools, and repair 2 health facilities . The district medical association will be provided with 5 types of modern medical equipment and 5 cultural objects will be created.

195 billion soums will be allocated from the State budget for the implementation of the Program.

During the meeting with the deputies of Bayaut district Kengash of people’s deputies, senior officials of the relevant departments made suggestions and recommendations to address pressing issues.
