Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 November, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Uzbekistan Aram Grigoryan.
During the conversation, the parties noted that this meeting is a logical continuation of the dialogue initiated with the President of Armenia Armen Sargsyan in Tokyo.
It was emphasized that one of the priorities of the foreign policy of Armenia is the development of inter-parliamentary relations with Uzbekistan. In this regard, during the meeting, the parties agreed on the formation of friendship and cooperation groups in the legislative bodies of both countries.
The parties discussed specific areas of inter-parliamentary cooperation, including within the framework of international parliamentary structures. Particular attention is paid to the prospects of cooperation in the field of education, culture, agriculture, the development of information technology, tourism.
During the meeting, the importance of the participation of parliamentarians in strengthening the legal framework of interstate relations and the implementation of bilateral agreements reached at the highest level was emphasized.
During the dialogue, topical issues of strengthening interaction between the regions of both countries were also discussed.
