Senate approves first woman ambassador of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During the fifth plenary meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the issue of appointing the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the State of Israel was also considered.

Chairman of the upper house of parliament T.Narbaeva drew attention to the fact that despite the establishment of diplomatic relations between our country and more than 130 foreign countries, a woman ambassador has never been appointed.

“Feruza Yuldashevna will go down in history as the first female ambassador of independent Uzbekistan,” said Senate Chairperson T. Narbaeva. “Along with the honorable mission, this is also a high responsibility. In addition, recognition of her worthiness in such a responsible position is a symbol of high trust and recognition of women in our country. We hope that from now on we will repeatedly witness such attention and recognition. Since Uzbek women deserve this.

The senators wished good luck in the future work of F. Mahmudova and expressed hope that, having applied all her knowledge and potential, she would demonstrate exemplary activity in the name of the interests of our country abroad, in particular in Israel.
