Senate Approves Amendments to the Law on the State Budget for 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the 12th plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, lawmakers considered a draft law introducing amendments to the Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2025.”
Speakers noted that the country is consistently implementing reforms aimed at socio-economic development, creating favorable living conditions for the population, reducing poverty, improving citizens’ well-being, and advancing education, healthcare, culture, sports, and other sectors.
In 2025, presidential decrees and resolutions were adopted to address pressing social issues in the regions, improve mahalla infrastructure, and promote development in other priority areas. In this context, the need arose to ensure timely financing of the measures being implemented and to identify sources for additional expenditures.
The new budget amendments provide funding for activities under the “From Poverty to Prosperity” program, as well as the allocation of additional resources to improve energy efficiency in multi-apartment residential buildings and social sector institutions. In addition, part of the budget funds will be optimized and reallocated to cover additional expenditures, with the aim of enhancing targeted and efficient use of budgetary resources and strengthening fiscal discipline.
Senators emphasized that the adopted changes ensure timely financing of measures designed to further the country’s socio-economic development. Following the discussion, the law was approved by the parliament.
