Sejin G & E Co. Ltd to produce electricity from landfill gas in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- South Korean company Sejin G & E Co. Ltd will build capacity for production of electricity by converting landfill gas, generated at the landfills “Ahangaran” and “Maidontol” in Tashkent region.

The Korean side will create a foreign enterprise in Uzbekistan to implement the project.

Sejin G & E Co. Ltd committed to attracting direct investments in the amount of US$55 million in 2018-2020.

As part of the project, the South Korean company will install 12 units of new modern generators and auxiliary equipment that generate electricity from landfill gas (methane), generated at the Akhangaran and Maidontol municipal waste sites.

The total capacity of the installations will be at least 16 MW (10 installations of 1560 kW each and 2 installations of 500 kW each).

The government of Uzbekistan has provided Sejin G & E Co. Ltd tax and customs benefits.
