Security measures of citizens of Uzbekistan, studying in Shymkent, discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the information of Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions in Kazakhstan, a meeting was held at the Regional Social and Innovation University of Shymkent with the participation of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Saidikrom Niyazkhodjayev, representatives of the Akimat of Shymkent, rector of Sandybay University Boranbaev, deputy chairman of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan Sherzod Pulatov, deputy chairman of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in Shymkent Muradali Halmuradov, chairman of the Association of Ethnocultures Uzbeks’ associations of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Dustlik" Ikram Hashimdjanov on 21 September 2019.

Measures were discussed to ensure the safety of Uzbek citizens studying in Shymkent, to take legal measures against offenders and to take the necessary preventive measures to prevent future incidents.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan and the Consulate General in Almaty (Shymkent is part of its consular district) took control of the situation. On behalf of the Foreign Ministry, representatives of the Consulate General are in the city and maintain contact with the leadership of the region and the University, as well as Uzbek students who are informed that they are protected by a diplomatic mission.

All existing problems will be resolved jointly with the local authorities of Shymkent, which provide comprehensive support to the actions of the diplomatic mission.
