Second Sunday of December announced as Day of Agricultural Workers

The document said that the second Sunday of December will be announced as the Day of Agricultural Workers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The senators noted that agriculture sector became important sector of economy. Currently, more than 3.6 million employees and employees work in the agrarian sector, the share of agriculture in the country’s GDP is 17.2 percent, the annual growth is at least 6-7 percent.

A huge role in achieving these results belongs to all employees of the industry - farmers, dehkans, machine operators, silkworms and livestock keepers, rural entrepreneurs, specialists and scientists working in the agricultural sector.

According to the senators, the adoption of the Law will serve as recognition of the selfless labor of the village workers, their contribution to strengthening of the state independence and the prosperity of the country.
