SCO Justice Ministers Discuss Digitalization and Legal Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Justice, Akbar Tashkulov, participated in the twelfth meeting of the Ministers of Justice of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.
The session included speeches from the Ministers of Justice of Russia, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, and Tajikistan, as well as the Deputy Minister of Justice of Kyrgyzstan and the Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO.
In his address, Tashkulov provided a detailed overview of ongoing judicial and legal reforms in Uzbekistan, including the dissemination of legal information, the implementation of the “smart regulation” system (TSTB), the development of digital justice, the launch of the AI-based chatbot “LexAI,” innovations in judicial expertise, and prospects for cooperation with other SCO member states.
Special attention was given to the digitalization of notarial services. Through the “Notarius” information system, documents are maintained electronically, notarial processes are simplified, and citizens receive free qualified legal assistance funded by the state, not only for criminal cases but also for administrative offenses and civil disputes.
The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of reforms in the justice ministries of SCO countries and explored prospects for further cooperation. It was agreed that the next SCO Justice Ministers’ meeting will be hosted by the Republic of Tajikistan.
The event concluded with the signing of a joint statement, which recorded the agreements reached on the agenda items.
