Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  The opening ceremony and plenary session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum on Digital Technology Cooperation took place in China, bringing together representatives of member states to discuss joint efforts in the digital sphere.

Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, participated in the event and delivered a keynote address during the plenary session.

In his remarks, Minister Shermatov emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation among SCO countries in digital transformation, the adoption of information technologies, and innovation-driven development. He highlighted Uzbekistan’s national initiatives aimed at advancing the digital economy, expanding digital infrastructure, and increasing the use of digital public services.

The forum’s agenda included exchanges of best practices in digital technology, cybersecurity, the application of artificial intelligence, and the integration of digital solutions into public and private sector operations.

Minister Shermatov also extended an invitation to all participants to attend ICT Week 2025, Uzbekistan’s flagship digital technology event, scheduled to be held from September 23 to 26 this year.
