Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 May, an Agreement between the governments of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on cooperation in the field of healthcare entered into force, Dunyo reports with reference to the organization’s Secretariat.
This document has been prepared and adopted in order to increase the level of public health, develop and strengthen friendly relations, as well as expand cooperation in the field of healthcare between the SCO member states.
From now on, all members of the association will cooperate in such areas of health care as science and innovative technologies, the prevention and control of infectious diseases, the safety and quality of medicines and medical devices, the informatization of health care and the development of telemedicine, and the provision of medical assistance in emergencies and natural disasters, primary health care and high-tech medical care, maternal and child health care, noncommunicable diseases and ormirovanie healthy lifestyles, food safety and others.
The interaction will be carried out through the exchange of scientific and innovative achievements, advanced and modern technologies, participation in international events held by the parties, development of cooperation between organizations and healthcare institutions of the SCO member states.
Coordination of cooperation to implement the provisions of this Agreement is carried out by the Expert Working Group, the activities of which are regulated by the relevant Regulations.
The agreement is open for accession by any state that has become a member of the SCO. In this case, it shall enter into force 30 days after the date of receipt by the depositary of the instrument of accession.
The signing of this document is very relevant in the current period, marked by the struggle of the countries of the world with the coronavirus pandemic and its consequences.
