Schoolboy Assaults Classmate in Syrdarya Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A video circulating on social media has captured an incident of violence among schoolchildren in Syrdarya region. The press service of the regional Department of Internal Affairs provided details on the case.

According to the authorities, the incident occurred on 31 March at a school in the Saykhunabad district. During a conflict, an 11th-grade student, identified by the initials M. M., struck his classmate B. Sh. multiple times in the face, causing bodily injuries.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 277 of the Criminal Code, which addresses hooliganism. Investigative actions are currently underway.

The situation is also being monitored by the child ombudsman, Surayo Rakhmonova.
