Saxovat receives Uzbek Halal certificate

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 August 2021, a press tour was held with the participation of the republican media, organized by the State Veterinary Committee, the Parrandasanoat Association and the large poultry farm Saxovat in Pskent.

In June 2021, Saxovat received a halal certificate. This document was issued by the Uzbek Center for Scientific Testing and Quality Control and the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan. Until that moment, a certificate from the Council of Muftis of Russia was valid for the company's products.

Saxovat broyler has been providing the Uzbek market with high-quality chicken meat since 2016. The closed production cycle "From the field to the counter" includes growing feed, keeping parent flocks of laying hens producing broiler eggs, hatchery, growing broilers, cutting, packaging and delivery to points of sale. This allows to ensure high quality products at all stages.

“To obtain the certificate, the enterprise underwent a thorough audit by representatives of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare Service, the Veterinary Committee and the clergy. In addition, we hired an external halal consultant to cooperate. Under his leadership, the staff delved deeper into the topic of halal food and biosafety. During the lesson, practical situations were considered and clear instructions were given. For example, what to do if a carcass falls on the floor,” said Artur Dapkunas, Executive Director of Saxovat Broyler.

“Independence from imports is an important step towards food security in Uzbekistan, the need for which is emphasized by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. For its part, the state actively supports poultry farming. In June this year, the industry received new benefits and subsidies. Thus, VAT payers receive from the state budget 50 soums for each sold egg and 1,000 soums for each kilogram of meat sold. Part of interest payments on loans is also covered, the amount of a number of taxes has been halved, and Mikrokreditbank has been allocated $ 85 million to finance poultry projects, "said Bakhodir Isaev, First Deputy Chairman of the Veterinary Committee. Saxovat Broyler's revenue for 2020 amounted to 144 billion soums, the amount of tax deductions - 27.5 billion soums.

“Saxovat works for the domestic market, but within the framework of the state program for the promotion of Uzbek brands abroad “Made in Uzbekistan”, products are exported to Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan. Now, together with government agencies, exports to China and the countries of the EAEU Customs Union are being worked out,” said Artur Dapkunas, Executive Director of Saxovat Broyler.
