Saudi Arabia Ready to Increase Recruitment of Uzbek Workers for Seasonal Jobs
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Saudi Arabia is preparing to expand the recruitment of Uzbek citizens for seasonal employment, reports the Dunyo information agency.
In Jeddah, representatives of Uzbekistan’s Consulate General held talks with Abdullah bin Abdurahman Ismail, head of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development’s regional department for Jeddah and Mecca. The discussions focused on cooperation in the field of labor migration, including legal employment of Uzbeks and establishing direct contacts with Saudi employers.
Abdullah bin Abdurahman Ismail noted that currently very few Uzbek citizens are working in Jeddah and Mecca. He supported the proposal to bring in Uzbeks for seasonal work and discussed the possibility of employing butchers and construction workers during the Hajj season.
Additionally, online negotiations are planned between Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction to expand the program for attracting labor migrants.
