Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Umurzakov Sardor Uktamovich was appointed to the post of head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In connection with new appointment he was relieved of the post of Deputy Prime Minister for Investments and Foreign Economic Relations - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade.
Sardor Umurzakov (born in 1977) is a graduate of the Tashkent State University of Economics (1998) and the University of Reading (UK, 1999). He began his career at the NBU and worked there in various positions (2000-2007), including specialist, chief specialist, head of department, as well as deputy manager of the Samarkand regional branch of the bank. He served as the head of the Treasury Department for Tashkent (2009-2013), First Deputy of the Treasury Department of the Ministry of Finance (2013-2014).
He worked as an adviser to the chairman of the board of the Uzbekcharmpoyabzali association (2014-2017), deputy chairman of the association (2017-2018). He also headed the Uzcharmsanoat Association (2018-2019).
In January 2019, he was appointed Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade. On March 10, 2020, Umurzakov was appointed Deputy Prime Minister for Investments and Foreign Economic Relations, while retaining the post of Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade.
