Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 31 July, the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister Akram Aliyev and Ignacio del Pozo, Executive Director of Santander Corporate & Investment Banking.

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is the investment banking division of Banco Santander, one of Europe’s largest financial institutions. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Madrid, the division currently operates in more than 20 countries, covering major financial centers across Europe, Latin America, the United States, and Asia.

During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the financial sector. Santander CIB representatives expressed strong interest in participating in the financing of projects implemented in both B2B and G2G formats.

According to the company’s management, such initiatives could become key drivers in further strengthening and deepening the partnership between Uzbekistan and Spain.
