Samarkand Leads Uzbekistan in Number of Registered Marriages

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A total of 177,000 marriages were officially registered in Uzbekistan’s civil registry offices (ZAGS) from January to September 2025, according to the National Committee of Statistics.

The highest number of marriages was recorded in the Samarkand region — 21.2 thousand. It is followed by the Fergana region with 19.4 thousand and the Kashkadarya region with 17.7 thousand registered unions.

In Tashkent city, 16.9 thousand marriages were registered, while the Andijan region recorded 14.9 thousand, the Surkhandarya region 14 thousand, and the Namangan region 13.8 thousand.

The lowest number of marriages was observed in the Syrdarya region — 4.5 thousand, followed by the Navoi region with 5.5 thousand and the Jizzakh region with 7.6 thousand.
