Samarkand Leads Uzbekistan in Number of Births in the First Nine Months of 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — According to the National Statistics Committee, 664,600 live births were registered in Uzbekistan between January and September 2025.

The highest number of newborns was recorded in Samarkand Region, with 80,903 births, making it the leading region in terms of birth rates nationwide. Kashkadarya Region followed with 75,116 births, while Fergana Region ranked third with 74,614 newborns.

The lowest birth figures were observed in Syrdarya Region, where 15,879 children were born, and in Navoi Region, with 18,594 births. In Tashkent city and other regions, the number of newborns ranged from approximately 28,000 to 61,000.

In addition to the leading regions, Surkhandarya Region registered 61,128 births, Andijan Region 60,131, Namangan Region 57,881, Tashkent Region 49,007, and the city of Tashkent 47,703. Khorezm Region recorded 33,011 births, Bukhara Region 32,624, the Republic of Karakalpakstan 29,523, and Jizzakh Region 28,484 births during the reporting period.
