Samarkand International Airport resumes work after runway repair works

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 August 2017, Samarkand International Airport started to accept airplanes after capital repair of the artificial runway sections (IPPP), Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) said.

Samarkand International Airport was closed for flights from 1 July to 31 July 2017.

During the period, experts of various departments and companies carried out a project to overhaul the runway areas of the Samarkand air harbor. All repair work was carried out in a short time with high quality.

On 1 August, Samarkand International Airport already accepted the first plane of the Russian airline UTair.
