Samarkand Expands Business Cooperation with Illinois: Visit of U.S. Delegation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Governor of Samarkand region Adiz Boboev held a business meeting with a U.S. delegation led by Susana Angelina Mendoza, Illinois State Comptroller and political leader.

It is noteworthy that in April this year, representatives of the Samarkand regional administration visited Illinois, where they held a series of productive meetings within an international program aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.

The current visit of the American delegation served as a reciprocal gesture of goodwill and demonstrated mutual interest in developing the partnership. During the meeting, both sides exchanged presentations highlighting the history, economic potential, and cultural heritage of Samarkand region and the state of Illinois.

Special attention was given to the prospects of cooperation between the ancient city of Samarkand and modern Chicago, cities capable of mutually beneficial exchange of experience and resources.

The American delegation also included entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan who have successfully been doing business in Chicago for many years. They expressed readiness to expand their activities in Samarkand, outlining priority areas such as information technology, logistics, modern construction, and other promising sectors of the economy.

Adiz Boboev pledged comprehensive support for initiatives aimed at the dynamic development of the region’s economy and the strengthening of Uzbek-American business partnership.
