Samarkand and Malaysia Boost Cooperation in Muslim Tourism
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Hokim of Samarkand region, Adiz Boboev, is conducting a series of working meetings with organizations and companies in Malaysia to develop the region’s tourism potential.
A key discussion took place with representatives of the Malaysian Islamic Tourism Center, focusing on experience sharing in servicing Muslim tourists and strengthening mutual cooperation.
Negotiations highlighted the creation of comfortable conditions for tourists, including food services, transportation, and other essential facilities. The discussion also covered the effective development of pilgrimage tourism and the systematic organization of visits to Samarkand’s sacred sites.
The Hokim presented proposals to further develop the city’s tourism infrastructure, aiming to raise service quality to international standards. The Malaysian side emphasized the need to activate collaboration in ziyarat tourism and expressed readiness to share experience and implement joint projects.
Following the talks, the parties agreed on measures to effectively organize services for Muslim tourists. This collaboration is expected to play a key role in establishing Samarkand as an international center for pilgrimage tourism.
